Longleat hosts its very own Festival of Light every year, during the holiday season, from the middle of November to the beginning of January, with a different theme each year. For 2023, the event was held with the theme of ‘Treasured Tales', which consists of scenes throughout the park from much-loved stories like Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Old themes for this exceptional occasion include Beatrix Potter and Roald Dahl, which provided nostalgia for those of all ages around the United Kingdom.
The event also provides a magical atmosphere with the singing Christmas tree. The tree, being the largest in Britain, stands at 15 metres tall and has over 88 thousand lights attached to it, making these experiences extraordinary for people of all ages. Show times are accounted for every 20 minutes lasting a duration of 15 minutes in which it involves singing Christmas carols and providing festive patterns on and around the tree.
In addition to the wonderful silk lanterns and enchanting Christmas tree, Longleat provides its visitors with food stalls throughout the main park, such as mulled wine, loaded fries, and hot chocolate, which can’t be found at the tourist attraction outside of the Festival of Light. As well as this, they tend to have gift stalls spotted around the park containing both festive and zoo-inspired gifts for family and friends.
With all this being said, Longleat’s Festival of Light is a guaranteed unforgettable experience, whether alone or with loved ones, and can be enjoyable for all ages.
