On Sunday Chippenham under 13s lined up to face guests St. Bernadettes for their penultimate game of the season - and the crowd were treated to an avalanche of points.
Rory Mulgrew got the home team off to a flying start when he stole the ball from a St. Bernadettes defender and scored in the corner only three minutes into the match.
This early score sparked more life into the visitors game and they quickly equalised after some poor defending by Chippenham.
A swift interception by Bradley Doggett and a sweet off load gave Chippenham's James Noble the chance to score; with Doggett producing an excellent conversion Chippenham stretched their lead 12 points to five.
Undaunted St. Bernadettes produced an excellent try to narrow the lead but Robert Preece, for Chippenham gave the home team a comfortable score of 19 points to 10 at half time.
After the break a series of terrific individual runs produced tries for James Hillier, James Noble and Cameron Garty; Doggett converted two out of three and Chippenham were way out in front 38 points to 10.
N
ever giving up, and never dropping their heads, the visitors went up a gear and produced three fine tries and conversions in quick succession taking their tally to 31. A late try by Doggett ensured Chippenham's win 43 points to 31 at the final whistle.
A fine win by Chippenham against worthily opponents St. Bernadettes.
