CHIPPENHAM will be playing the biggest game in the club's history when they entertain Bridgwater and Albion in the second round of the EDF National Trophy on November 18.

That's the view of the club's head coach Rob Alford, who saw his team cruise to a 32-0 win over Clevedon in the first round on Saturday.

The visit of Bridgwater and Albion will be the first time Chippenham have faced National League Three opposition.

Alford said: "It will be the biggest game in the club's history. Nobody in a Chippenham shirt has ever played in a game this big."

Chippenham played some entertaining rugby against Clevedon and they took the lead through prop Karl Parry-Curtis. Scrum-half Andy Williamson kicked the extras to give them a 7-0 lead.

Grant Trewartha added a second try for Chippenham before the break, with Williamson again converting. Dave Slee replaced Williamson for the second half and the new number nine soon made his presence felt with a penalty.

Slee kicked a penalty for the hosts and Clevedon full back Winters missed a kick from similar range as Chippenham extended their advantage to 20-0.

The next try came from winger Pete Rigby, whose unconverted effort took the score to 25-0. But Chippenham saved their best for last with a length-of-the-pitch move which resulted in a second try for Trewartha.

Slee's simple conversion brought the curtain down on the scoring.

The only downside for Chippenham was the sending off of Will Waldron for a second yellow card.
