GOLF: The Lafarge club won the Wessex League Seven-man Singles Knockout Cup.
The Westbury-based Lafarge club won the final against Entry Hill played at Fosseway by five-and-a-half-games to one-and-a-half-games. The team knocked out Whitley 3-4 away and 5-2 at home. Then, in the semi-final, they knocked out Fosseway A winning at the fourth extra hole.
Final results:
Pete House won 3 and 2; John Webb won 4 and 3; Ray Cooper won 3 and 1; Pete Mould won 5 and 3; Rob Mead lost 3 and 2; Ashley West halved; Tony Hood won 3 and 2.
