TOP fixture in the Premier Division on Sunday sees second place Winsley away to fourth in the table Westbury Rangers A.
Winsley will no doubt want to protect their 100 per cent start to the season, but may well face a strong challenge from the undefeated Westbury side.
At the other end of the table are two clubs who would welcome a change of fortune. Both Trowbridge Harriers and Box Rovers have struggled to find form this season and would gladly take the points off each other.
Corsham Centre face another tricky fixture when they welcome the youthful Holt to Meriton Avenue, although now Corsham hot-shot Simon Gray has rediscovered his league scoring boots, Holt had better be on their guard.
Despite a couple of early defeats, Biddestone Social have climbed the league and are currently third. This week they face Spencer Sports who are likely to be fired up following their shock defeat at Bradford News last week.
Bradford News will hope that last Sunday's victory will kick start their season and could well win for a second week at fellow strugglers Maud Heath Sports. The Sports are also looking to get into some sort of form, and this could also be their opportunity.
Dog and Fox Ashley travel to Sherston Town this week still licking the wounds from last week's defeat against leaders Corsham Centre when they lost after taking the lead.
Division One
WITH leaders FC Colerne without a game, second place North Bradley will look to capitalise in their away game against Hullavington.
It may not be an easy game for them though as Hullavington pulled off an excellent draw last Sunday against high flyers Kings Arms (Trowbridge).
The Kings Arms have a tough game themselves when they welcome Kingfisher FC, but will have the firepower of Scott Askew to call upon following his four goals last week.
Chippenham Sports and Social and North Star A will be grateful of a league match this week as both sides have only played four times so far this season. Despite that North Star are the only undefeated side in the division and will be looking to keep it that way.
At the wrong end of the table, Chippenham Police could reduce the gap on their fellow strugglers Foresters Arms FC with a win. Since promotion last year, when they were known as Parsons Nose, the Foresters have made heavy going of the new challenge and have already lost four times, one more than the whole of last season.
The final two games in the division see Christian Malford take on Atworth and Potterne with home advantage against Semington Rovers. Of these only Christian Malford failed to reach the second round of the WG Parr Trophy last Sunday when they fell to Third Division side AFC Pilot.
Division Two
NEW leaders AFC Calne will hope to keep their 100 per cent start to the season with the visit of fifth placed Southwick Sports.
Last Sunday, while Calne were clocking up another league victory, Southwick went out of the cup in a penalty shoot-out so they could be looking to get back to winning ways quickly.
The game of the day features the teams currently lying in second and fourth, with the The Ship FC visiting Rowde FC. Rowde will be looking to protect their perfect start to the campaign and this is likely to be their toughest test yet as the Ship need a win to close in on the leading pack.
At the basement end of the division, four struggling teams are involved in some good old fashioned four pointers'.
The Horse and Groom will be looking to improve on their last match which saw them score four times but still lose when they face Sutton Benger, who will be playing at Leighton Rec for the second week running. White Horse host the game with Crown Devizes with a win for either side good enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.
FC Bradford will be hoping that Lee Stevens will have recovered from his injury sustained last Sunday which saw him taken to hospital with concussion. They play Biddestone Arms this week in a midtable clash that could go either way.
Both Pig and Whistle and Fascia Graphics have flattered to deceive this year after promising 2005/06 campaigns. Graphics came up as champions but seem to be making heavy going of the higher division while the Pig are not hitting the form of last season. This could be the opportunity both teams have been looking for.
Division Three
AFTER last week's exciting extra-time and penalty cup win, Westbury Rangers B have another challenge on their hands in the form of The Southgate Inn.
The Devizes side have not dropped a point so far this term and do not look likely to do so this Sunday, but the boys from Westbury might just have a trick or two of their own.
It would appear that this division is the tightest of all in the league with only six points separating second and bottom places, so any side putting a run together could find themselves near the top.
Two sides capable of this are Cooper-Avon and Pack Horse Rangers. For Cooper-Avon this will be their first home league game of the season, but Pack Horse have been fairly successful on the road so far.
Two other sides caught up in the melee are AFC Pilot and Blue Circle. A win for the home side will bring them level with Blue Circle whereas a win for the visitors could open up a small gap on the chasing pack.
Fourth placed Wheatsheaf make the trip to Stanley Park to play Sir Audley's Arms knowing that a win will keep them in contention in the promotion race, while Sir Audley's will want to build on their steady start to the campaign.
Both Biddestone White Horse and Corsham Park Rangers exited the cup last Sunday at the hands of Division One sides and this week they come face to face in a midtable clash. Both teams need to keep a watchful eye over their shoulders as the wrong end of the division is not far behind them.
The real dogfight takes place at Somerford where the home side take on Chippenham United RAOB. The two sides are separated by goal difference only so a win for either side could be the first step on the road to recovery.
Division Four
LEADERS Little George face a tough test against Wanderers who have been unbeaten in the league since the opening day and are still celebrating the scalp of a Second Division side in the cup last week.
Second placed AFC Bell welcome the visit of Corsham United whose young side have improved by the week since a shaky start to the season. AFC Bell should be good enough to come away with the points though.
Bromham (Sunday) will continue to put pressure on the leading teams if they can come away with both points in their game against Trowbridge Town Supporters' Club, although some recent gritty performances from the supporters suggest they are no push overs.
Churchill Arms will need to tighten up things at the back if they want to move up the table. They don't have too many problems scoring, but seem to gift goals to the opposition. This week they face high scoring AFC Melksham who until recently had the ability to outscore their opponents. This could be a very entertaining match for the neutral.
North Star B will be hoping for striker Dave Lymath to continue his rich form against The Rising Sun who themselves would like to see their strikers find any form at all as they have the dubious honour of being the second lowest league scorers in all divisions.
After banging in 14 against a depleted Somerford in the cup, The Crown FC will be hoping to continue where they left off as they make the trip to Chippenham West End Club who sit one place above them in the league but only by goal difference.
And don't forget that the clocks go back this Saturday, so you get an extra hour in bed.
