Jackie Rockliffe
ATHLETICS: JACKIE Rockliffe set a new Avon Valley Runners club record at the Cardiff Marathon.
She finished 125th overall and 10th lady in a field of nearly 1,300 runners.
Her time of three hours, 11 minutes, 20 seconds was not only a new personal best, but also a new AVR club record for the marathon, lowering the mark set by Rachel Bown at this year's London Marathon by nearly four minutes.
The time also allows Jackie to line up alongside the elite female athletes at next year's London Marathon.
In the supporting half marathon 241st placed George Roberts was the first Avon Valley Runner back in a time of 1:31:19 followed by 2169th placed Bridget Casey in 1:54:24.
