ATHLETICS: ORGANISERS of this year's Tidworth 10k and 3k fun run, which takes place on Sunday November 5, are encouraging people thinking of taking part to sign up now - or risk missing out.

The event, which is raising money for the Pembroke Unit and cancer care at Salisbury District Hospital, has already attracted a record number of entrants, with over 400 runners already registered.

Warrant Officer Terry Bickerstaff, who is organising the event, said: "Demand for places has been phenomenal and if last year's event is anything to go by, we expect large numbers of runners registering on the day itself. I would encourage anyone thinking of taking part to apply now, rather than risking disappointment on the day."

Anyone wishing to run can register online at www.tidworth10k.co.uk or by phone through Salisbury District Hospital's fundraising office on 01722 429005. Entry packs can also be picked up from Sole Obsession or LA Fitness, who are sponsoring the event.
