CORSHAM under 11s A team continued their unbeaten run, which goes back a year, at the Salisbury Tournament.

They were in a tough group that included, Salisbury B, Devizes, Bournemouth and New Milton.

After a sluggish start Corsham went a try down against New Milton, but James Catlin equalised late in the game.

Second up for Corsham were Salisbury B and another try by Catlin gave Corsham the win they deserved.

Getting better as the tournament went on, Corsham trounced Bournemouth 30-0, with tries by Ollie Deane (2) James Catlin (2) and one apiece from Will Attrill and Alex Kilbane.

Another try by Catlin gave Corsham a win over Devizes to set up a final against Salisbury A.

The final was an evenly contested game but Salisbury could not find a way through the Corsham defensive line, with Ollie Deane keeping Salisbury on the back foot with some great territorial kicking.

With the referee calling last play Salisbury managed to get over the Corsham try line but Corsham prevent the ball from being grounded.

Coach John Deane said "A draw was a fair result for this entertaining and hard fought final. This is a tournament contested by some strong teams from both Wiltshire and Dorset and is always a measure of how we are doing. Every player played their part in this victory."

The under 12s started the day in fine form qualifying for the final against Sherborne. They through by beating New Milton, Bournemouth and Salisbury without conceding a try.

This set up a repeat of last year's final with Sherborne.Corsham conceded their only try of the day early on and despite a lot of pressure and playing most of the remainder of the game in the Sherborne half Corsham were unable to break down some superb defending and ended up runners-up.

The under eights and under nines were both second in their group and qualified for the Shield finals.

The under nines played a very close match against Salisbury in the final - narrowly losing by one try to nil.

The under eights lost the plate final to Wimborne after a hard fought game.
