North Dorset 13, Trowbridge 5

NICK Lawes has promised to ring the changes after Trowbridge were carved apart by North Dorset at the aptly named Slaughtergate.

The Green Lane skipper will tell several members of his squad they can expect a spell on the sidelines after another lacklustre display.

Trowbridge were out-muscled by the big North Dorset pack and Lawes is expected to shuffle his forward line before the visit of Oldfield Old Boys tomorrow.

He said: "North Dorset scrummaged us off the park on Saturday. We weren't even winning the ball off our own set-pieces.

"I can understand if it's just one game but we've not been up to scratch in that department for a few weeks now.

"We will have to make changes. Some people are not going to like it but that's just life.

"I want to see a response from those players we leave out. If they go into their shell after this I will know we dropped the right people."

North Dorset opened the scoring with an excellent try, as wing Jonathan Hooper chased Simon Keates' kick to finish in the corner.

A penalty from fly half Keates extended the lead before Clive Tuffin crashed over on the stroke of half-time.

Adam Sullivan touched down for Trowbridge after the break, but the 13-5 scoreline flattered the visitors, who were always on the back foot.

Lawes was sin-binned in the closing stages as he vented his frustration with a dangerous tackle.

"I shouldn't have lost my head but I was just so wound up because we couldn't retain possession," he said.

"We turned up with the wrong attitude and Dorset really got stuck in. I'm looking for a big response from the players this week."
