DEAN Barker returns to Woodmarsh tomorrow for the first time since leaving Trowbridge Town in the summer.

The popular striker already has ten goals to his name for new club Old Woodstock Town and is hoping to add to that tally against the Bees.

Barker netted 13 times for Trowbridge last season and formed a formidable partnership with fellow front man Dave Percival.

But following the departure of former manager Neil Kirkpatrick, Barker decided to join a club much closer to his High Wycombe home.

The pocket-sized centre forward still has many friends at Woodmarsh and will be hoping to show the home supporters what they have been missing.

He said: "I had the best time of my life down at Trowbridge.

"The supporters were fantastic with me and I'm really looking forward to going back there.

"When I graduated from (Buckinghamshire) University in the summer I wanted to find a local club.

"Old Woodstock is only about 20 minutes from where I live so it seemed the obvious choice. We're unbeaten away from home this season so it should be a good battle."

A bye in the first round of the Wilts Senior Cup left Trowbridge without a game this week. By kick-off tomorrow, 14 days will have elapsed since the Bees last kicked a ball in anger.

The home side will be boosted by the signing of midfielder Lee Salter, brother of centre-back Aaron.

Manager Paul Shanley believes the 19-year-old, who had trials with Salisbury City and Chippenham Town during the summer, will be an excellent addition to the squad.

He said: "I had Lee as a youth player for about four years so I know all about his quality.

"This signing will keep all the players on their toes," he said. "The extra competition for places is healthy."
