GYMNASTICS: THREE star pupils from the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics were in action on Sunday at the English Gymnastics Champion- ships in Melksham.
Katie Moffat, and Pig Higgs, both 12, and Leanne Clark, 13, all took part in the women's junior competition.
The English Championships is second only in standard to the British Championships and all three gymnasts put in promising displays.
Moffat, from Stanton St Quinton, finished 10th out of 45 junior competitors.
Clark, from Melksham, placed 16th overall and Trowbridge tumbler Higgs finished the competition in 31st place.
Gymnasts were marked on four pieces of apparatus including beam, bar, vault and floor.
Wiltshire School of Gymnastics head coach Rachel Lervick said she was proud of the girls.
"We didn't expect any medals because they are all so young - gymnasts can compete as juniors up to the age of 15," she said.
"The standard of competition was very high and I'm sure the girls learned a lot. Maybe in a couple of years they will be challenging for medals."
Moffat and Clark will be in action again this weekend at the Rushmore Rosebowl, a two-day international tournament.
Moffat will compete for Great Britain while Clark will represent the South West in the regional competition.
