NETBALL: BRADFORD B continued their winning start in Division Two of the Moonraker Netball League with a 53-4 victory over Westbury D.
Bradford made a terrific start to the match with their new shooting partnership of Mandy Collyer, at goal attack, alongside Sharon Rodford, goal shooter, with the pair hardly putting a foot wrong.
They racked up 17 goals between them to go in at the end of the first quarter leading by 17 goals to two.
In the second quarter newcomer Kellie Mackenzie, goal defence, and Claire Brackenbury, goalkeeper, were outstanding and Westbury failed to hit the target at all while the Bradford lead rose to an impressive 28-2.
Player-of-the-match Nicola Mundy, at wing defence, completely dictated the pace of the game and Westbury found it hard going to establish their own style of play.
Two more newcomers, wing attack Emily Park and centre Pip Rowe completely dominated the centre court play and attacked every ball with speed and accuracy, feeding the shooters continuously to keep the goals coming.
By the end of the third quarter the score was up to 39-3, but Bradford never let up, making tactical changes in the final quarter. Rowe dropped back from centre to sharpen up her shooting skills and slotted in seamlessly. Danielle Hammond came on at wing defence making some terrific interceptions to contribute to a resounding victory.
