GOLF: TWO Frome golfers just missed out on national glory at the final stage in the International Pairs UK grand final Fairmont St Andrews in Northern Ireland.
John Merrills and Dougie Toogood, of Orchardleigh Golf Club, scored 63 stableford points to finish 28th in the competition, 14 points behind the overall winners.
The overall UK title was won by Welshmen Paul Johnson and Neil White, of Llanwern Golf Club, with a score of 77 points.
