CRICKET: WILTSHIRE seam bowler and vice-captain James Hibberd has won the Frank Edwards Trophy for the leading bowling average in this year's Minor Counties Championship.
Hibberd took 22 wickets at an average of 12.86. He is the first Wiltshire player to win either this trophy, which was first awarded in 1970, or the Wilfred Rhodes Trophy for batting, which was first awarded in 1955.
He will be presented with the trophy at the Minor Counties annual meeting at Lord's on December 5.
Wiltshire team-mate James Golding finished third in the bowling averages, with 19 wickets at 16.84.
Wiltshire have reappointed Richard Bedbrook as captain for 2007. In his first year as skipper Wiltshire finished third in the Western Division of the Championship and reached the semi-final of the Knockout Trophy.
