ANGLING: THE Wednesday open match at Viaduct Fishery produced outstanding sport, with carp feeding ravenously.

In-form Jamie Smith, of Frome Haines Angling, notched up another fine win with a carp catch weighing 198lb 7oz, taken on waggler-fished pellets and sweetcorn.

Runner-up spot went to Andy Power, of Blackmore Vale MG, with another carp catch weighing 150lb 2oz, taken on pole-fished pellets. He was followed by Dave Roper, of Reids Tackle, with a carp catch weighing 143lb 15oz, taken on pole fished pellets.

Weights were fairly even in the Landsend Fishery midweek open match.

Top honours went to Rory Andres, of Westerleigh, with a mixed bag of carp and silver fish weighing 66lb 13oz, taken on long pole fished pellets.

In- form Pete Sivell, of Dynamite Baits, took second prize with another carp and silver fish catch weighing 54lb 15oz, taken on pole-fished pellets.

He was followed by Andy Oram, of Dynamite Baits, with a carp catch weighing 53lb 10oz, taken on pole-fished pellets. Nicky Collins took the silver fish prize with a catch of 27lb 6oz.

Other placings: 4 Alan Bryant, Landsend, 48lb 6oz; 5 Mark Etheridge, Veals, 48lb 4oz; 6 Vic Bush, Mosella, 45lb 4oz.
