WHEN Bratton and Heytesbury met a fortnight ago the teams fought out a nine-goal thriller which Heytesbury shaded 5-4.
In the return match it was Bratton who were celebrating victory after their 4-2 success.
Goals from Darren Clements and Mark Howell gave Bratton a two goal interval lead.
Leigh Kennedy reduced the arrears after the break but it wasn’t long before Shane Newman struck to restore a two-goal cushion for Bratton.
Heytesbury were always in the game and Andrew Jackson kept the game alive with a second for the visitors to Leighton.
Any hopes of a Heytesbury comeback were ended when Shane Newman poached a second and with his goal the points were wrapped up.
Holt FC 2 FC Northbridge 0
THE last time Holt and FC Northbridge locked horns the points were shared following a 4-4 draw.
But the reverse fixture wasn’t as exciting, as a goal in each half earned Paul Fawcett, who was standing for manager Stuart Faint, a 2-0 win that saw him maintain his proud record of never having lost a match when he’s been left in charge of the villagers.
Rhys Gibbons turned home a Josh Maguire cross to give Holt their half-time lead after the interval a breakaway goal from Lance Davis wrapped up the win for the home team, who defended resolutely throughout with Jonny Andrews the star performer as he marshaled his back line well.
Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves 3 Boomsbury 6
LEADERS Boomsbury stuttered to a 6-3 win at Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves who had their share of chances to get something from the game .
But the hosts were more than happy despite losing to the leaders for a second time this term as the previous match ended 8-1 in favour of Ben Howe’s side.
Reuben Spong scored both goals for Boomsbury in a first half that saw Scott Mitchell net for Wanderers.
Boomsbury increased their lead after the break when Ollie Howe bagged his first of the season.
Richie Bliha scored two for Boomsbury but also put through his own goal for Wanderers second who scored a third via Gavin Francis.
Scott Askew completed the half dozen for the winners, who finished the game with 10 players after they had Scott Phillips sent off.
