PAUL Shanley admits that he has worries over his Bradford Town side’s potency in front of goal after they were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Oldland Abbotonians last weekend.

Bradford have the joint worst goalscoring record in Toolstation League First Division with 14 goals so far this season and manager Shanley thinks that his side need to start taking their chances.

“The game summed up our season – we created umpteen chances but just didn’t take any of them,” said the Bradford boss.

“Our build-up lay has been great but we’re just not sticking the thing in the back of the net, which is the most important thing at the end of the day.

“I’ve got strikers that have scored at this level before but for some reason, they’re snatching at things and it’s something that we need to try and look at – we’ll definitely be having shooting practice in training.”

Bradford host Welton Rovers tomorrow and should welcome striker Matty Cooper back to the squad.

Lewis Porter is unavailable.
