TROWBRIDGE Town manager Paul Blake has called on his side to replicate their second-half performance from last weekend’s Hellenic League Challenge Cup clash with Woodley Town.

Trowbridge went into the break 3-0 down after John Donegan’s hat-trick for the visitors but Ian Groves pulled a goal back in the second period when he fired home a free-kick.

Winger Jordan Kirk, who has signed from Corsham Town, marked his Trowbridge debut by making it 3-2 but the Bees couldn’t manage to level the scores.

“We gave away sloppy goals in the first half and I had to change a few things at half-time,” said Blake.

“It’s a bit disappointing that we didn’t take it to extra-time because our second half performance was brilliant.

“You have to give their defence their dues because they were just throwing bodies in front of everything and their keeper made two or three great saves.

“We’re out of the cups so we can just concentrate on the league now and if we replicate that peformance from that second half, then we’ll start picking up points.”

Trowbridge travel to county rivals Purton, who they drew 1-1 with earlier in the season, in the Hellenic League Division One West tomorrow.
