FROME Town boss Darren Perrin is hoping to bolster his side’s firepower with the signing of a new striker over the weekend.

The Robins could see Twaine Plummer leave to join Radstock Town after the Western League outfit made a seven-day approach for the player.

“If one comes in, then one will have to go out and I should hopefully hear if the the player will be joining us by Saturday or Sunday,” said Perrin.

Meanwhile, frontman Ricky Hulbert gave Frome a reminder of his talents in front of goal on Wednesday night as he grabbed a hat-trick against Cirencester Town in the first round of the Red Insure Cup.

Lee Davidson, who is dual-registered with Warminster Town, also got himself on the scoresheet before Adam Mayo pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 90th minute.

“I was delighted with the performance and we could have scored a lot more,” said boss Perrin.

“Most Southern League managers use the competition to keep players happy and give them a chance to play, and I’m no different.

“But we’re out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy, so we’ll still take the cup very seriously.”

On Saturday, Ryan Bennett thought he had given Frome all three points against Hemel Hempstead Town in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier, when he headed in from Tom Evans’ cross in the 91st minute.

But Ross Lafayette equalised a minute later.
