LLOYD Davis returned to the Trowbridge line-up in style for the first time in nearly two years as he set up the match-clinching try for the home side in the dying moments.

Davis, stepped off the bench for the Green Lane side for the first time since suffering serious leg injuries in a work accident in February of last year.

His pass to Steve White allowed Trowbridge to tie the scores at 16 apiece in the final moments, Kyl Knight’s super conversions sealing victory for the hosts.

Unavailability ensured coach Alex Hill was again unable to field the same side twice, but White missed two early penalty attempts for the home side.

Walcot seized on a mistake and centre Adam Wilton went over for an unconverted try to take the lead against the run of play.

Shortly afterwards Walcot extended their lead after a penalty kicked by Chris Speadbury.

Trowbridge started to put some structure to their play and a period of pressure saw Barry Coombs score an unconverted try.

They levelled when Knight landed a penalty only for Spreadbury to add his second kick to give Walcot an 11-8 interval lead.

The second half followed mostly the same pattern as the first with Trowbridge unable to convert pressure into points.

The visitors further extended their lead when winger Patrick Ryan scored another unconverted try.

Another Knight penalty brought the scores closer and for the last 10 minutes Trowbridge battered the Walcot line.

A visiting mistake right on the stroke of full time allowed Davis to send in White and Knight to convert.
