CORSHAM Town boss Trevor Rawlings thought that his side were hard done by after they were held to a draw by Longwell Green Sports last weekend.
Rawlings’ men took the lead in the first half when Ollie Webb’s corner evaded everyone in the Longwell Green box and curled into the far corner but the Corsham man was penalised late in the second half for a handball in the area, despite Corsham’s insistence that the decision was wrong.
The hosts netted from the subsequent penalty to steal a share of the points.
“The referee said that it wasn’t a handball at first and it was only after the other bench shouted at the linesman that he put his flag up for a penalty,” said Rawlings.
“The ball hit Ollie in the stomach and some of their players even admitted afterwards that it wasn’t a penalty.”
Corsham host tenth-placed Street at Southbank tomorrow.
