TROWBRIDGE booked themselves a county vase semi final at North Dorset with a deserved victory at Green Lane.
The home team made a number of positional changes to the starting line up and gave a first start to newcomer Will Powell at full back.
Tom Weaver, who has only just graduated from colts rugby, was selected on the bench, making his debut in the second half.
Trowbridge started at great pace and for the first 20 minutes all of the play was in the visitors half.
Only some poor decision making and three missed penalty kicks in front of the posts by the normally-reliable Kyle Knight prevented the Green Lane outfit being out of sight.
As it was the only points they recorded during the first quarter was a try from Joe Knight, converted by Kyle Knight.
Trowbridge were playing some of their best rugby of the season but silly errors prevented other scores.
They did manage a further try through Jamie Little, who had one of his best games since returning to Green Lane.
Oakmedians got on the scoresheet just before the break when an interception by winger Nathaniel Wheeler gave them their only points of the half.
The visitors lifted their game in the second half and only strong defence kept them at bay.
Gradually the home team got back into the game and created a number of scoring chances.
Good interlinking between forwards and backs set up a good try for Sean Ellis after a slick pass from Powell put him under the posts. Ashley Chalk converted.
Not to be outdone the forwards created a period of pressure and were able to increase the lead after Sean Jones crashed over the line for an unconverted try.
Trowbridge then seemed to fall back on their lead and let the visitors in for two unconverted tries from Jamie McDonald and Charlie Davis.
