THE Bristol Avon at Barton Farm hosted the Airsprung Richard Stainer Memorial Open match on Sunday where Trowbridge matchman John Atkins, of Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG, carried off top prize with skimmers and bleak weighing 14lb 3oz.
Kevin Grant of Trowbridge was next with 11lb 3oz of roach, followed by Kevin Dicks of Maver Bathampton with 9lb 5oz of roach.
Other placings: 4. Dave Haines Bristol 9lb 4oz; 5. Jim Escott Melksham 7lb 8oz; 6. Guy Manton Preston Innovation Thatchers 5lb 14oz.
THE Saturday Open at Ivy House Fishery saw England international Des Shipp, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, win with carp and silvers weighing 83lb.
Elick Payne of Calne was next with 68lb 11oz of carp and silvers, followed by Mick Lane of Rolfs with a 62lb 3oz mixed bag.
Mick Gale of Chippenham was fourth with 59lb 1oz and won the silvers prize with a weight of 22lb 3oz.
THE Calne Pairs match was won by Richard Faithful, from Newbury, with barbel and chub weighing 14lb 2oz.
Paul Cadogan from Calne was runner up with 6lb 2oz of chub followed by Trevor Payne from Corsham with 5lb 6oz of chub.
The pairs prize went to Faithful and Payne with a weight of 19lb 8oz.
Other placings: 4. Simon Fear Calne 5lb 5oz; 5. Pat Samuels Newbury 4lb 9oz 8dm; 6. Gary Dodson Calne 3lb 10oz.
