MELKSHAM Oak School students Scott Finch and Gemma Bishop competed for Great Britain at the Wild Water Canoeing Junior World Championships in the Czech Republic.
The pair, from Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club in Melksham raced over 400m and 4.2km courses over for days in individual and teams events in Opava.
Finch, 15, in his first world championships, finished 33rd, while Bishop, 16, was 20th in her second world event against the best U18 paddlers in the world.
Both are hoping to be selected for the European Championships in Solkan, Slovenia, next year.
The pair are supported by Bath University in their South West Talent ID scheme for strength and conditioning sessions and their club coach Kevin Bowerbank.
