GREAT Bedwyn put the brakes on Winsley’s title bandwagon by inflicting only a second defeat of the season on the league leaders.
Electing to bat first, Bedwyn’s total was built around knocked off 44 and 45 from Robert Palmer and Richard Bosson respectively.
Wicketkeeper George Stone added 23 towards the tail end of the innings, while the dangerous Josh Rurawhe took 4-67 for the home side and Andrew Swinburne 2-42.
Winsley’s reply looked in good shape thanks to early knocks of 47 from Clyde Williams, 29 by Rob Murphy and James Horrox (26).
Justin Bailey (3-21), Max Andrews (2-54) and Richard Bosson (2-50) chipped away at the order, but Rurawhe’s unbeaten 55 looked to be helping his side out of trouble.
However, final two Simon Orchard and Swinburne were both run out to leave their side 19 short.
