GYMNASTS from the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics in Melksham returned with trophies and medals after taking part in an international competition in Malta.
The 11 girls from the Melksham-based club, aged 9-15, took part in the Gymstars International Invitational Competition, a two-day event attracting hundreds of gymnasts from across Europe and beyond.
Many of the Wiltshire gymnasts were competing abroad for the first time, but in Category D (7-9 years), Abbie Elms was second in bars and Jessica Daykin first on beam and third all around.
Jemima Brown came second on vault and floor in category D (10-13 years), while teammates Robyn Ellison, Anna Oatley, Tianie Newman and Megan Neathey also competed in the section.
Charlotte Emery came first on vault and floor and third all around in category D (14+ years), Wiltshire winning the D team category.
In category B, Rowan Hey was second on bars, Chloe Daykin second on beam and third all around, Ellie Gittins also competing as Wiltshire School finished third in the team standings.
Franki Gee, who along with fellow coach Rachel Levick led the party, said: “We are really proud of our girls. They competed well and represented their gym very well.”
