EQUESTRIAN: BECKY Mundy, a pupil at Matravers School, Westbury, has been crowned Junior Great Britain Show Jumping champion for the second successive year.
Becky and her palomino horse Telstar cleared every fence over three days of competition at the David Broome Eventing Centre in Chepstow. It was the first time the 15-year-old had ever recorded six clear runs in a major competition and she was delighted with the performance.
Becky said: "Before the final run there was lots of pressure on me because I was the last to ride. "I was shaking because it was so nerve-racking. When I crossed the finish line without knocking down any of the fences I was so relieved."
Becky, who works as a waitress at the aptly named Kicking Donkey in Brokerswood, added: "I'm very proud of my horse. It was a real team effort. "Next year I hope to win it again," she said.
