WILTSHIRE have regained the Marlborough Cup for the first time in six years by beating Berkshire by 14 runs at Devizes on Sunday.
In the traditional warm-up game between the neighbouring counties, Wiltshire batted first in overcast and damp conditions and scored steadily to reach 190 for nine wickets off their 50 overs.
Eddie Abel scored 40, Liam Dawson 22, James Golding 30 and Alex Senneck 30 not out. In reply Berkshire made 176 all out, with Steve Naylor unbeaten on 50. For Wiltshire Alex Senneck took 2 for 33, James Hayward 2 for 32 and there was one wicket each for Richard Bedbrook, James Golding and Pat Turk as well as three run outs.
Wiltshire play their first competitive match of the season on Sunday April 30 when they entertain Oxfordshire in their first group match in the Minor Counties Knockout Trophy at Westbury, start 11am.
