ANGLING: IN-FORM Holt angler Pete Neate had a profitable weekend, with two victories in three days.
At the Wilts Angling open match fished at Rood Ashton on Friday Neate took top prize with an all-carp catch weighing 108lb 15oz, taken on pole-fished pellets. Dean Adams, of Bradford, clinched second prize close behind with another carp catch weighing 107lb 11oz, taken on method feeder fished pellets.
He was followed by Ian Willetts, of Bradford, with a carp catch weighing 42lb, taken on pole-fished catmeat. The Wilts Angling Open match fished at Witherington Farm produced even weights of carp and Neate rounded off a good weekend with another fine win with a carp catch weighing 46lb, taken on pole-fished pellets.
Ian Willetts clinched second prize with a carp catch weighing 42lb 5oz, taken on pole-fished bread flake, and he was followed by Mick Gunning, of Trowbridge, with another carp catch weighing 41lb, taken on pole-fished pellets.
Competitors enjoyed good sport in the Wednesday open match at Ivy House fishery. Steve Collins, of Ivy House, carried off top prize with a carp and silver fish catch weighing 58lb 6oz, taken on pole-fished pellets. Steve Jones, of Ivy House, was in second spot with another carp and silver fish catch weighing 42lb 6oz, taken on pole-fished pellets and red maggots, and Gary Etheridge, of Devizes, again made the prize list in third place with a carp and silver fish catch weighing 38lb 9oz, taken on pole-fished pellets and sweetcorn.
