Richard Sadler, pictured, has continued his domination of golf in Cornwall by winning the Cornwall PGA Alliance series again this year.
He celebrated his move from Mullion, where he qualified in 2003, to become teaching professional at Carlyon Bay, by taking an unassailable lead in the race for the money title for the third straight time.
He also claimed the professional league table for the second year and there were still three more counting events to be played at Perranporth, Mullion and China Fleet.
He is now targeting the Alliance Championship to be played at Launceston in late April. He has been crowned champion for the past three years.
His results in the first eight Alliance meetings are certainly worth recording. He shared first place with Malcolm Edmunds (Mullion) with 70 (-1) at Tehidy Park, won at West Cornwall 65 (-4) and even an eight-over-par 77 brought first spot at Newquay. He was beaten by Paul Kent (China Fleet) and Paul Turpin (Carlyon Bay) after shooting 68 at Bude and was third again at Trevose on 72, trailing Michael Derry and Russell Binney. But he shared first place in the next three events, with Tony Nash (Lostwithiel) at St Enodoc on 65, Phil Rowe at Trevose on 67 and Kent on 68 at St Enodoc.
He spent nine years in America on golf scholarships. He attended Florida State and played on the Nike Tour for four years.
Three years ago he won his first order of merit tournament, the AdGolf West championship at Cumberwell Park. The £2,250 prize was his highest since his $26,000 reward in a mini-tour event at Emerald Dunes, Florida.
"The tournament was rained off the previous week so the money was rolled over," said the Falmouth-born player, 36, who had 25 wins in the US.
