WESTBURY United A are through to the final of the Trowbridge League Division Two Cup.

They overcame a 1-0 deficit from the first leg to beat FC Northbridge in a penalty shoot-out in the Taylor Kitchens and Bedrooms-sponsored competition.

After a goal-less first half, Paul Farian scored United to take the tie into extra-time. Young added a second for Westbury, but Northbridge hit back through Steve Jackson to send the tie to a penalty shoot-out.

This went Westbury's way 4-3 and they go through to meet AFC Trowbridge Town Youth Reserves in the final at Warminster on April 25. Westbury's penalties were scored by Paul Farian, Nick Mead, Chris Murray and Stuart Powell, with James Starr, Dave Bradbury and Gareth Colebrooke on target for Northbridge.

In Division One Frome Town Sports A, with only three league wins all season, gained a surprise 4-3 away win at second in the table Bradford United. United led 2-1 at the break and 3-2 in the second half but Frome, who had a player sent off midway through the second half, battled and were rewarded with three late goals, two from the penalty spot.

Frome's marksmen were Paul Bendall (3, including two penalties), and Lewis. Matthew Sheppard, Dan Cotterell and Paul Tunnell replied.

Seend United were somewhat fortunate to come away from Rudloe with a 2-2 draw. All the goals came after the interval, Luke Wolf scoring both for the home side and Dave Castle and Arron Richardson for for the visitors.

In Division Two Westbury United A gained only their second win of the season with a 6-3 midweek win over Hilperton United.

Stuart Powell (2), Tim Coombs (2), Nick Mead and Chris Stone scored for United, with Shaun James (2) and Lee Ashman replying.

In the only Saturday game AFC Trowbridge Town Youth Reserves won 4-1 at Seend United Reserves, with goals from Leigh Ruskin (2), Jamie Young and Mark Burrell. Nigel Hall replied.

In Division Three the battle of the Bradford reserve sides saw leaders Town beat bottom placed United 4-1. Charlie Powell (2), Stuart Powell and Gavin Target scored for Town, with Chris Sheppard replying.

In their final game of the season, second placed Trowbridge Wanderers beat the basement outfit, The Stiffs, 2-1. Regular goalkeeper Mark Binns played up front and scored both goals for Wanderers. Mel Massaoud produced a commanding performance in the unfamiliar right back position. Stiffs replied with a penalty from Adam Stevens.

Lavington won 4-1 at fourth placed Rowde Sports, who are 10 points below them. The league's top marksman, Myles Hickton, scored a hat-trick and Matthew Hayle added a single.

The game between the two teams based at Stanley Park, Chippenham, resulted in a win by the odd goal in three for FC Chippenham over Four Seasons. They were 2-0 up at the interval, thanks to Detmar and Stef Klukowski, with Shane Minnis replying for Seasons in the second half.

Fifth placed Frome Town Sports A gave basement team, Apetito a 6-1 thumpimg. Apetito were 1-0 up at the break, thanks to a Nigel Penelhum strike, but conceded six goals in the second period.
