GYMNASTICS: ELITE gymnasts at the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics have been successful in two national level competitions.
This year the Wiltshire School had two gymnasts Antonia Bates, from Rode, and Francesca Grout, from Bradford on Avon pass their elite grade at the national competition in Liverpool, Both girls are ten years old which is the youngest you can take the grade.
Wiltshire School gymnasts also took part in the British schools' championships in Newcastle. This is a team competition for school age children of 16 and younger.
Katie Moffat, Pip Higgs and India-Rose Mills were in the South West junior team for gymnasts aged 12 and under and helped the team win the bronze medal. Jessica Coombs and Leanna Clarke were part of the senior team for gymnasts aged from 13 to 16, and helped the team to finish fourth.
There was also success in the individual competition, with 11-year-old Katie winning silver and Pip Higgs, also 11, finishing seventh.
All the elite girls are back in training for their next competitions, firstly the British Teams competition in April and the British Championships and British age groups in July and November respectively.
