Freshford United took over at the top of Division One after their 3-0 win at Blue Circle. They now lead by one point from Bradford United and Blue Circle. Freshford put Blue Circle under pressure from the start and went ahead with a goal from Tom Armstrong.
Shortly afterwards Circle lost one of their most influential players then hardly threatened the Freshford goal for the remainder of the half and it was no surprise when Freshford doubled their lead with a rare, but magnificent, strike by Tony Brett. Paul Mockridge made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Tom Armstrong was brought down by the goalkeeper. Circle pushed an extra man forward but their best efforts were denied by a solid defence and some fine goalkeeping by Chris Birleson.
In Division Two Hilperton United bounced back from 1-0 down at half-time to beat Seend United Reserves 2-1. Chris Bishop scored for Seend. Unbeaten leaders FC Northbridge won by the odd goal in nine at Bratton. The home team were 2-1 up at the interval but after a second half goal spree they lost 5-4. Bratton scorers were Paul Smith (2), Dan Cox and an own goal. The goals for Northbridge came from Steve Jackson (2), James Starr, James Taylor and Gareth Colebrooke.
In Division Three Semington Magpies won 3-0 at Bradford United Reserves. The home team started brightly but never caused Magpies any trouble. Magpies started to dominate and Josh Mills opened the scoring with a brilliant solo goal. They added another midway through the first period following a superb cross from Mike Falzon. Mills then turned provider with a great through ball to Danny Rimmer who slotted home past an on-rushing keeper.
Late in the second half Bradford were awarded a harsh penalty which was saved by Martin Bray. The referee ordered a retake and Bray saved again with a brilliant dive to his left.
Bradford Town Reserves remain in top spot after a second half strike from Mark Robinson gave them a 1-0 home win over Frome Town Sports A.
Trowbridge Wanderers drew 1-1 at Stanley Park against FC Chippenham to remain in second place. The first half was very even, with both sides having a lot of possession without creating any clear cut chances. The only action was a header from Wanderers Dominic Gorton which flew just wide of the post. The visitors started well after the break and had a goal harshly disallowed for offside within the first minute.
Mark Stevens broke the deadlock with a glorious turn and shot which flew past the despairing keeper into the roof of the net. They pushed to extend their lead but could not fashion any decent opportunities.
Wanderers were looking to secure a comfortable victory when the referee awarded a hotly disputed penalty against Chris Stojkovski for pulling an opponent's shirt. The penalty was converted by Mathew Spears to earn Chippenham a point.
The game between Lavington and Rowde Sports was postponed as the visitors were unable to raise a team.
