Former Melksham Town boss Kelvin Highmore says it was a mistake to have ever joined the Conigre club, after taking over at Calne Town for the second time.
The veteran manager replaces Rob Lardner and Simon Hillier at Bremhill View, while ex-Devizes chief Paul Thompson will join as his assistant.
Highmore left Calne in 2005 for Melksham, but was controversially sacked in 2008 days after winning the Wiltshire Senior Cup.
“On reflection I’m not sure I made the right decision,” he said. “It’s all ifs and buts, but when you look at it with the benefit of hindsight maybe I should have stayed.
“The way it all happened at Melksham, I still resent it a bit. But I haven’t got a point to prove.
“When I finish in football I want it to be my decision rather than someone else’s.”
Meanwhile Frome Town chief Andy Crabtree has committed his future to the club.
The Robins have been promoted to the Southern League and the boss is hoping to bring in a string of new faces to help them survive.
“We’re in the midst of trying to attract some new players,” he confirmed. “We’re speaking to three of four.”
Goalkeeper Richard Feyer has left the club to join Cadbury Heath as player/ assistant manager with full back Adamo Missiato following him due to increased work commitments.
