South Wilts consolidated their position as leaders of the Wiltshire Youth League U15 Division One with a comprehensive ten wicket defeat of Chippenham at the weekend.

Marc Burton took five wickets for two runs as Chippenham were bowled out for just 69.

South Wilts then reached their target within ten overs without the loss of a wicket.

A fine all-round performance from Michael Reynolds enabled Trowbridge to defeat Swindon by six wickets and move up to second position.

Reynolds claimed four wickets as Swindon totalled 174-8 in their 45 overs (Lee Baden 66) and then scored 115 to enable Trowbridge to win with ten overs to spare.

In the Under 15 Division Two, an undefeated 136 from Tom Alsop took leaders Cannings to an imposing 287-2 against Goatacre/Spye.

Alsop was ably supported by James Lavis (51 not out) and Ollie Lavis (42).

In reply, Goatacre/Spye were dismissed for 125 to leave Cannings victors by 162 runs. Harrison Painter (53 and 4-9) had a fine game for Marlborough, who defeated Wootton Bassett by 81 runs.

Painter supported Duncan Lorrain (90) and with Ros Thompson (50) took Marlborough to 224-4.

Despite 84 from A Sharmam, Wootton Bassett could only manage 143 as Marlborough won by 81 runs.

Marshfield bowled out Devizes for just 70 with Tom Clist taking 4-6 and Fabian Macknay 4-17.

Marshfield passed their taget without loss, with S Mumford scoring 50.

In the Under 11 Division One, South Wilts emulated their U15 side with a convincing win over Chippenham to remain top of the table.

Batting first, Chippenham were restricted to 64-7 with Todd Richardson (27) top scoring and Archie Hart taking 3-0 for South Wilts.

John Bishop (27 not out) and Adam Thompson (17 not out) took South Wilts home for the loss of one wicket.

Swindon moved into second place thanks to a magnificent innings from Jake Goodwin.

Goodwin’s 142 not out equalled the highest U11 score in the league’s history and enabled Swindon to post a daunting 210-0 against Marshfield. In reply Marshield managed to score 69-7 to leave Swindon winners by 141 runs. In the Under 11 Division Two, leaders Cannings had an emphatic nine wicket win over Trowbridge.

Owen Lauder took 4-7 to help dismiss Trowbridge for 47 and then Stan Alsop (34) led the Cannings' successful reply.

Biddestone overcame Calne by five wickets in a fine win.

Calne scored 77-5 with a fine 36 not out by Alex Bates.
