Equestrian: There were some impressive performances from Wiltshire riders at Warminster Saddle Club’s annual Horse Trials event.
The trials were a combination of dressage, show jumping and cross country.
The event was split into adults and juniors, with two sections in each as riders could either compete in the 2ft 3ins jumping section or 2ft 6ins.
The new dressage boards out in the fields looked good and the new show jumps and revamped cross country course certainly asked a lot of horse and rider.
Rain in the week leading up the event softened up the ground just enough to ensure very good going for the horses.
In the juniors, Gina Dean won the Equishop Junior 2ft 3ins section on her horse Briarwood Blue Savannah, with a final score of 40.90 points.
Emily McKeown was second on her horse Roo, with Alice Feltham third on Carrie, Lauren Evenden fourth on Toffee and Jake Coward fifth on Savoury Delight.
In the Shack 4 Tack Junior 2ft 6ins event, April Palmer was victorious on her horse Jack, with a final score of 88.90.
Phemie Dillon came second on Yewtree Warpaint.
Lisa Williams won The Shack 4 Tack Open 2ft 3ins adult section on her horse Top Hat, achieving a score of 55.30.
Hannah Pole finished second on Mayfly, with Abby Bannell third on Stormhill Madonna and Fiona Perrett fourth on Freddie.
Veronica Andrews came fifth on Fenny, with Ellen Wickenden sixth on Monty.
In the Equishop Open 2ft 6ins section, Jeanette Harrold scooped the top prize with a super points score of 31.0 on her horse Sir Jasper.
Kate Apted finished second on Edge of Reason, Jade Forbes came third on Two Sox and Helen Huett was fourth on Cullenaghs Rebel.
Frances Hunter finished fifth on Phantom and Diane Lever sixth on Hurry Up Harry.
One person who was not placed but deserves a mention was Danielle Rawlings on Tinkerbella, in the 2ft 3ins junior class, who with a score of just 29 for dressage beat all the other competitors on the day.
