Box v Cooper Avon Tyres.

Having won the toss, Cooper Avon captain Rich Hemmings chose to bat and the desicion was a good one as the visiting side posted a huge score of 287 for 2.

An excellent batting track coupled with some big hitting practically put the game to bed at the tea break.

An opening partnership of 137 between Simon Bailey (53) and Mark Wiltshire (75) paved the way for the next batsmen to score big as well.

Dave Crawford bowled economically with 2 for 14 from his 12 overs, Bailey fell LBW and Wiltshire was clean bowled. Steve Rendell, having survived a first ball LBW appeal went on to smash 95 not out from 57 balls, he was joined in a 123 run partnership by Dean Wallington (43 no) to finish at tea on a huge total.

In reply, opening attack of the Hemmings brothers was seen off by Pettit (19) and Kelly (17) before John Wiltshire (5 for 64) made the breakthrough by finding an edge, caught behind by Bailey.

Bond fell for a duck, again to Wiltshire, as did the next three batsmen, to give John Wiltshire a well deserved 5 wickets. Trotman was bowled for 20, Bray for 32 and Crawford for 18.

Wallington (3 for 51) and Rendell (2 for 16) wrapped up the innings in the 42nd over when Messina (0) and Styles (38) were bowled by Wallington and Dancey (18) and Rhymer (12) fell to Rendell to leave Box on 185 all out.
