Norton St Philp v Box 2nds (Wiltshire Division 8)
The Norton St Philip Pitchforkers made an impressive first innings total of 229 for 7 with notable contributions from veteran opener Mark Finch (63) and Lee Hodgson with a quick fire (53).
Unfortunately Tim (Tendulkar) Barnes fell foul of the Norton St Philip curse at the 3 o’clock bell (where legend says a wicket will fall on the site where the executions of Pitchfork Rebellion 1685 by Judge Jefferies took place) falling for just 1 to Box’s seamer Gary Richardson.
In Box’s 2XI’s reply, Norton’s expressman Lee Hodgson took 6 wickets for 25 as Box put up worthy resistance (21 from Dan Petit), but unfortunately fell short with a total of 73.
