New College took another step nearer to lifting the Wilts Premier division title following their 4-0 victory over visitors Westbury United.

They now need three points from their final game of the season against bottom of the table Corsham Town in midweek to secure the title. Should they slip up however, nearest rivals Melksham Town will be waiting in the wings and need to win their last two remaining matches.

The College got of to great start against Westbury with a goal inside the first couple of minutes from Levi Cox, who went on to complete a hat trick.

Two goals up at the break Cox netted his third 15 minutes into the second half with Jamie Prictor completing the scoring in the final minutes.

Despite being under the cosh for most of the first half a spirited fight back by Warminster Town saw them to a 3-2 victory over visitors Calne Town, to ease their relegation fears.

The visitors missed chance after chance in the opening 45 minutes but found themselves a goal down at the break courtesy of a strike by Warminster’s Ashley Caws .

After the interval Calne continued to create chances but once again the goals came at the other end through Mariusz Hozska and a neat header from Craig Shepherd.

Ten Minutes from time Calne eventually found the net with a Stuart Wilson penalty and Birthday boy Neurin Jones added a second shortly after to ensure a frantic last four minutes for the home side.

Purton moved into third spot in the table following their 6-1 victory over visitors Bromham.

Six wins and a draw from the last seven games left manager Stef Kucynski mulling over what could have been had his side not dropped some soft points earlier in the season.

Two goals each from Warren Fuller and Ashley Gooch and one apiece from Jamie Turpie and Craig Hogg were the Purton scorers.

FC Chippenham Youth left it late to beat visitors Corsham Town 2-1, Jack Coathupe scoring the all important goal in the last couple of minutes.

Earlier the home side missed plenty of opportunities to have made the game safe, Mark Nolan giving them the lead and Corsham drawing level following a bad back pass to the keeper.

Trowbridge Town also scored a late winner away to Westside Steve Hulbert scoring with just three minutes left on the clock for a 3-2 victory.

Luke Wareham and a penalty from Jimmy Wright netted for the home side and Hulbert and Jamie Batstone for the visitors.

Pewsey Vale and local rivals Marlborough Town fought out a no score draw to earn the Vale a valuable point.

Devizes Town and Bradford Town provided an entertaining seven goal thriller with a late goal from Simon Drewitt giving Devizes victory 4-3.

Earlier goals from Jack Fisher, Luke Enderby and Simon Drewitt had given the home side a 3-1 lead the visitors fighting back to level the scores.
