One of Great Britain's most successful current racing drivers, triple World Touring Car champion, Andy Priaulx MBE, was a surprise visitor to the Castle Combe circuit this week.
Priaulx, who clinched his consecutive world titles in 2005, 2006 and 2007 driving for BMW, gave selected guests of the German marque the ride of their lives on a hot lap of the circuit in the latest BMW 320si World Touring Car.
The Guernseyman had just returned from a successful weekend in Mexico where he scored a second place and fastest lap at the Puebla circuit.
Circuit chairman Howard Strawford commented, "We are always pleased to welcome some of Britain's great motor sport champions to Castle Combe, James Toseland, the youngest ever World Superbike Champion coming to see us last year. Andy's visit was a real surprise treat for the BMW guests and something they will remember for a long time."
Andy is now off to Marrakech for the latest WTCC round this weekend, but for those looking to see BMWs in action a little closer to home, Castle Combe hosts a round of the Production BMW championship at its Husqvarna Springtime Raceday this Monday May 4, racing starting from 1.00 pm.
