Trowbridge kickboxing star Anna Otterwell says all her hard work has paid off after she became a two-time British champion on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old defeated the experienced Stacey Parker in her home town of Stevenage via a unanimous judge’s decision of 5-2 after a gruelling contest to claim ISKA Ladies Super Lightweight title.
Otterwell already holds the ISKA Ladies Lightweight title and says all the sacrifices she made in the build-up were the reason for her success.
“I’m just really pleased, all the hard work for the last eight weeks has paid off,” she said.
“I’ve been training four or five times a week and also running every morning. It took over my life for a while.
“My coaches were over the moon as they put in a lot of work and time to help get me ready for the fight.”
Otterwell trains at Spartans Kickboxing in Chippenham under the tutelage of Malcolm Martin and former European Champion Simon Belletty.
After winning two belts on her opponent’s home turf she is now desperate for the chance to exhibit her skills in Trowbridge.
“It would be bit of extra pressure to fight here but it’s something I’d like to do,” she said.
