Melksham Town kept tabs on the Premier division leaders with a 1-0 away win over FC Chippenham Youth, the all important goal coming from a free kick in the fourth minute of injury time.

Both sides were evenly matched with chances few and far between until a Josh Robinson free kick deep in injury time gave the visitors the points.

Town boss Tim Spear said “ We seem to have had the luck with us in the last couple of games, we haven’t been playing well but the lads have ground out a result.

Leaders Calne Town continue to set the pace in the section with a 3-1 away victory over Bromham.

Jamie Sharratt opened the scoring the scoring in the 22nd minute with a good strike from ten yards and Jordan Roberts added a second soon after with a stunning 25 yarder into the top corner of the net.

Bromham pulled a goal back before the break ,courtesy of a strike from Mike Flynn, enabling Calne to go in at the interval with a slender lead.

Bromham had the better of the second half and piled the pressure on the leaders looking for an equaliser, however the visitors defended stubbornly and then made the game safe with a couple of minutes to go when Steve Healey headed in a third from a corner.

Westbury United turned in one of their better performances at Purton beating the fourth in the table side 3-0. United’s Mark Lanfear took the honours with a first half hat trick that had the home side on the ropes.

Although the second half saw some improvement from the home outfit the game was virtually over for them at the break.

Delighted Westbury boss Phil Alford : “ If we played like that in our remaining games we could begin to get up among the leaders.”

Pewsey Vale held a two goal lead at the break against Wroughton, both goals coming from JamesWheeler.

However after the break Wroughton fought back well to level the scores with goals from Richard Poulton and Robin Harris to take a share of the points.

Trowbridge Town were beaten 2-1 at home by Corsham Town after taking a first half lead through Jamie Young.

Trowbridge manager Chris Carr was far from happy saying their second half performance was embarrassing.

Bottom club Westside were beaten 2-1 at home by Devizes Town, Simon Drewitt and Craig Townsend on target for the visitors.

Bradford Town scored a goal in each half through Stuart Powell and Russell Francis to run out 2-0 winners over visitors Warminster Town.

New College were without a game, but a 4-1 victory over Bromham in midweek enabled them to stay in second spot in the table on the same number of points as Melksham , both clubs two points behind leaders Calne Town with Purton remaining
