Corsham Town demanded their players undertake a vigorous training session on Wednesday evening and hope it will be what is needed to get a result at Barnstaple Town on Saturday.
The Reds slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Radstock at the weekend leaving the management concerned about their sudden steep decline towards the relegation zone.
While the ten point cushion should be enough to save them this season, assistant manager Graham Learmonth is keen to send an early warning that displays of that nature will not be tolerated.
“We had a good training session on Wednesday,” he said.
“It was compulsory attendance and we put them through a lot of fitness work.
“Hopefully it will knock a bit of sense into them.”
Utility man Jamie Moss, 20, has also been ruled out for the season and Learmonth hopes he will recuperate in a more productive fashion than he has in the past.
“We think his season is over but then it never really got going,” he said.
“Almost a year ago to the day he broke his leg and was back in time to play in August but he never regained his fitness.
“I think he got a bit lazy in his time off and put on a bit of weight.
“As long as it's not too bad an injury this time around then hopefully he'll be able to get himself right and come back raring to go in pre-season.”
