Trowbridge Town Youth have announced the dates for their 2009 tournament.
In a change to previous years Trowbridge Town have come up with a new initiative to help beat the credit crunch and make the tournament more accessible.
Instead of asking for the full entry fee up front they have decided to invite teams to secure their place with a £10 deposit. The remainder of the £20 fee will then be payable on the day.
Club Chairman Andy Mackinder said: "We hope this will make entering the tournament easier for Clubs.
"I hope people recognise that we are taking a bit of a risk but, in financially challenging times, we are looking to ease the burden on teams' pockets."
Event organiser Jo King is enthusiastic about this novel move.
"We will see whether our idea finds favour with our friends in youth football by the numbers of entries we receive" she said.
The tournament will take place over the weekend of 23-24 May 2009. Under 7s, 9s, 11s and 13s will play on Saturday, with Under 8s, 10s, 12s and 14s taking to the field the following day. The Under 7s and Under 8s will play in a soccer festival with medals available to all those who take part.
More details and those important entry forms can be found at the club Web Site (www.trowbridgetownfc.com) under the “Club News”. For further information please contact the Club by e-mail at info@torwbridgetownfc.com or phone the event organiser Jo King on 07545 172043.
