Two former Melksham players returned to haunt their old side on Monday evening while a current duo were also forced to leave early after being sent off.
First half strikes from in-form Simeon Allison and Jamie Cheeseman sunk the Conigre outfit who had taken the lead early on through Kris Beasley.
Tempers flared in the second half as Johnny Davoille and Nathan Fillimore were both shown straight red cards.
“Jamie Cheeseman was outstanding,” said Frome boss Andy Crabtee.
“He has been all season and is probably one of the best centre halves in the league and it showed again.
“He’s a Melksham lad as well so it was nice for him to come here and play the way he di. He had a bit of a point to prove.
“Simeon is from here as well. In fact, we've got three or four ex-Melksham players and I played for them as well so there is a connection between the two clubs.
“Hence, probably, the reason why there was a little bit of niggle in the game and it was a bit fesity.”
