The date for Swindon Town’s round of 32 fixture against Wycombe Wanderers in the Vertu Trophy has been confirmed.
The Robins came runners-up in their group and will face the League One leaders as a result.
The tie will be played on Tuesday 10th December with a 7pm kick off.
It’s the first competitive tie between the two sides since February 2018, where the Wanderers scored a last-minute winner through Adebayo Akinfenwa to seal a 3-2 victory.
Town fans will most likely remember the game for Matt Taylor’s free kick, which flew into the top left corner to level the game.
If Ian Holloway’s side produce an upset, it will be the first time ever Swindon have made it to the round of 16 in the competition since the format change.
David Flitcroft and Ben Garner are the only two managers who have guided the Wiltshire side to the round of 32, but there is the opportunity to step into unknown territory.
Matt Bloomfield’s team have won 10 games in a row in all competitions and are likely to make it 11 with an FA Cup game away at Wealdstone on Saturday.
They also made it all the way to Wembley in last season’s version of the competition but were defeated at the final hurdle by Peterborough United.
