Swindon Town's Head of Football Jamie Russell is set to leave the club after three seasons at The Nigel Eady County Ground.
As was first reported by The Moonraker and has been verified by The Adver, Russell will leave the club after 17 games of the season with Swindon level on points with the bottom of the table.
Having initially joined the club in March 2022 as the club's Senior Academy Director, Russell was appointed as the Head of Football in July 2023, working alongside Michael Flynn in recruitment, as well as setting the direction of the footballing side of the club.
Having asked those close to the situation, it is not clear whether Swindon will look to appoint a replacement or hand more responsibility to Ian Holloway ahead of January.
Swindon have struggled on the field during Russell's three transfer window reign and he has now chosen to leave to move to Salford City. Russell previously worked for The Ammies as an Academy Manager.
In addition to his work with the first team, Russell has helped to bring about the progression of Swindon's academy, which has seen huge success for the under-18s and also players like Joel McGregor move into the first team with the club.
