Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway claimed that his players saw another side of him following the 2-2 draw against Accrington on Saturday.
Despite going 1-0 up through Harry Smith, the Robins found themselves behind at the break again following two set piece goals.
Town managed to snatch a point through Danny Butterworth’s solo effort, but the first half wasn’t up to the managers standards.
“So, I have absolutely ripped them, ripped their ears off, ripped their face off and told them how I feel and they have seen my teeth today because that wasn't good enough and then in the second half it was.
“Every week in this division, you will have a different challenge and we need to stand up and compete for those things.
“The size of our boys back there, we should be able to win some headers, but I don’t think they were being helped.”
Set pieces have been a constant issue for the Wiltshire side this season and both goals Accrington scored were from corners.
Holloway made it clear what his team would be working on in training ahead of a must win clash at home against Morecambe.
“Deep down, that wasn’t good enough and if we keep doing that, I’m gonna have to get somebody else that can win some headers.
“I don’t wanna put Harry Smith back there because we won every header up that end, so it’s a very simple game sometimes so we’ll be working on that.
“A big guess, something they’re gonna have sore foreheads, you know?
“They will because you can’t lose those and that many and hope to hang on, we were lucky that they weren’t further ahead, but what a fantastic reaction in the second half.”
On the upcoming weekend, Swindon host Derek Adams’ Morecambe who are sat rock bottom.
If Town lose and Carlisle win, they will be joint bottom alongside the Shrimps and only seperated by goal difference.
The former Crystal Palace manager said that they will sharpen up ahead of the important game.
“We’ve got bottom of the league next week, we’ve got to do the same again but we’ve got to do it better.
“We’re gonna take everything out, polish it up and be brutally honest with them because they’ve had some with me today and that weren’t good enough.”
