Gavin Gunning and Jack Bycroft both felt that Swindon Town's late 1-1 draw with Gillingham was something that everyone at the club needed.
Grant Hall's ninth-minute red card for a rash challenge on Tim Dieng gave Swindon a quick setback as they looked to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
That hole was swiftly made bigger as Jacob Wakeling gave Dieng a simple tap-in to give Gillingham a goal and man advantage.
After reeling in the early stages with ten players, Swindon eventually rallied and hung in the game long enough for Harry Smith to head home Tunmise Sobowale's cross in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to earn a point.
Following the match, interim manager Gunning discussed the character that Swindon had shown in the match to play for almost 90 in-game minutes and snatch a draw.
He also spoke about how he had learned he was taking charge of the match late on in the week and the role Ian Holloway had played in the preparations.
Bycroft echoed that he felt Town had shown great togetherness as a group to earn something and how special the feeling was to celebrate the unlikely late equaliser with the home crowd.
