After a 3-2 win last week against Cheltenham, Swindon have gained momentum with two wins on the bounce but face tough opposition in Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Town have a few players back in the frame for this weekend’s clash and will look to register a first victory at home against Doncaster since 2016.

So, how could Town set up?

Goalkeeper: Daniel Barden

I think Dan Barden will start between the sticks for Swindon. I don’t believe there is a lot in difference in quality between him and Jack Bycroft, but I don’t see Mark Kennedy switching things up in net.

Defence: Miguel Freckleton, Will Wright, Tunmise Sobowale:

An unchanged back three. Whilst Ryan Delaney and Grant Hall should be in the squad, I don’t think either of them will start because they probably won’t be there in terms of sharpness. Hall did not make the bench last week in Gloucestershire and I think Delaney won’t be chucked into the starting 11, so that is why I think Kennedy won’t make any changes at the back.

Wingbacks: George Cox and Joel McGregor:

This is self-explanatory. Both Cox and McGregor were outstanding against Cheltenham and there is no reason to switch things up in the wingback department. I believe they are both fit so they should be the first names on the team sheet.

Midfield: Gavin Kilkenny, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Joel Cotterill

The hardest area of the pitch to call. Gavin Kilkenny has been a regular since signing in the summer so I think he will keep his place, but the other two positions could go to anyone. Nnamdi Ofoborh is my second predicted selection for the midfield, simply because of his defensive and physical presence. We will need a player like Ofoborh on Saturday and I think Kennedy will start him. The last spot is an interesting one as Ollie Clarke made a surprise start last game but I don’t think he will make a second consecutive start. Joel Cotterill is back from international duty which should see him take that spot in the squad. The Swansea loanee will add attacking bite to the midfield, whilst being able to drop back to defend transitions.

Strikers: Paul Glatzel and Danny Butterworth

The boss did not comment much on how Kabongo Tshimanga and Aaron Drinan were getting on which makes this a tough one to pick. I think Paul Glatzel starting is quite an easy selection because he put in a good shift last week and shouldn’t be dropped; should be a good choice to go against opposition like Doncaster. To go alongside him, I’m going with Danny Butterworth. It was difficult to call only because of the lack of information on the other strikers, but he did a solid job against Cheltenham and linked up well with Cox on the left so I predict him to start but it depends on what presence Kennedy wants up top.
